Year 6
Welcome to Year 6
This week the 'Made in Manchester' children have been learning about the influences which have shaped Manchester, about early Jewish settlers in Manchester and its sporting and industrial heritage.
We have visited Manchester City Art Gallery and created views of the urban landscape from the Gallery's windows. A tour guide helped us to appreciate the impact of industry and the cotton trade on Manchester's architecture as we explored the City streets and Manchester Town Hall.
At The Jewish Museum we gained insight into how times have changed for the Jewish community in Manchester.
By treading in our sporting heroes' footsteps, we began to appreciate Manchester's global fame and enjoyed dressing in their sports kits at The Theatre of Dreams.
Magna taught us how Science, Technology and Engineering have impacted on our lives in a truly explosive way.
For our final visit we travelled to the Peak District to see how water has shaped the land and how it continues to do so.
